In terms of spending power, where do the Indianapolis Colts rank in the 2025 NFL offseason compared to the rest of the NFL?
Based on GM Chris Ballard’s end of season comments, competition is going to be a theme this offseason for the Colts in an effort to increase urgency and to help elevate the level of play after another disappointing season. This was not the approach Ballard took a year ago, which he called a “mistake.”
As we look at the Colts roster, there’s a lot of position groups they can justify adding to as they look to infuse competition throughout this team. However, when it comes to doing that, there are only so many resources, in terms of salary cap dollars and draft picks to go around.
According to Over the Cap, the Colts have $28-plus million in available cap space at the moment. But how that compares to the rest of the NFL will play a factor in determining how many of those position groups they can add some impact help at.
Is that $28-ish million in salary cap room enough space to navigate the offseason? I’m not so sure, but the Colts do have the ability to create quite a bit more room if needed.
