Pro Football Focus selected their “secret superstar” for each NFL team from the 2024 season, and for the Indianapolis Colts, they selected left tackle Bernhard Raimann.
“The third-year tackle ranked eighth in PFF overall grade (85.1) among qualified tackles this year and was one of six tackles with an 80.0 grade or better as both a run and pass blocker,” wrote PFF.
After a strong sophomore year in 2023, Raimann built upon that performance with another strong showing in 2024.
On the year, he would surrender just four sacks and 20 pressures over 471 pass-blocking snaps. Out of 87 eligible offensive tackles, he would rank 23rd in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency metric.
Raimann was particularly good in the run game and the Colts very much missed his presence when he was sidelined due to injury.
He would rank 10th among tackles in run-blocking grade, and for the season, running back Jonathan Taylor would average nearly 5.0 yards per rush when running between Raimann and left guard Quenton Nelson.
Raimann will be entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2025 and could be a prime contract extension candidate this offseason for the Indianapolis Colts.
