At one point early in the week, the Colts had two practice squad openings. Now, as of Thursday morning, Indianapolis is back to full capacity.
The team placed cornerback Tre Flowers on the practice squad injured list on Monday, which opened up one spot. The other opening came when the Colts signed Mark Glowinski to the 53-man roster.
One spot was filled by Atonio Mafi, who the team waived from the 53-man roster to make room for Glowinski, and the other has now been filled by a familiar face, safety Michael Tutsie.
Tutsie was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State in 2023. He would spend the 2023 and 2024 offseason programs and training camps with the team before being released during roster cutdowns.
Tutsie hasn’t appeared in any regular season NFL games in his career.
With the Colts having waived Darren Hall from the 53-man roster in order to make room for Ryan Kelly who came off injured reserve this past week, the addition of Tutsie bolsters the team’s safety depth as they navigate practices throughout the week.
According to the Colts’ team site, Tutsie made 56 starts at North Dakota State, totaling 338 tackles, 22 passes defensed, and 11 interceptions.
